YSL Sale, Vivid Nails Win!

Hello, me again!

Holy mother of nail polish, something truly delightful happened to me a few weeks ago and I'm still somewhat in a state of shock and disbelief. Let me take you back...

So, I work in an airport, which is pretty fun! No, I'm afraid I can't get you good deals on flights, but one of the big perks of working in airports is the access to duty free products. Here, we have a staff shop, which basically flogs all the stuff that hasn't sold and we get really nice products for peanuts. Having not been into the shop for quite some time, I thought I'd go and have a little look inside after having spoken to a colleague who had picked up some Victoria's Secrets things.

The majority of the products that sell in there are beauty related, so if I need a new lipstick or some nice body cream, I know there's a pretty good chance that I'll find some there. I hadn't, to that point, ever seen any nail polishes, but oh my heck was I in for a treat.

Turns out that YSL are selling some of their polishes in the store and are having a 'Buy 3 for £15' deal going on, so obviously I dove into that box of polishes like it was a swimming pool during a heatwave. The most magical part (coming from a massively thrifty shopper) is that it prints on the receipt how much the products retail for and how much you paid for them and it turns out that each bottle sells for £15 alone, which basically meant that I saved £60 by buying 6.

I tell you what, guys, they're really special. I just keep looking at them and swooning...

As the pictures show, the colours I went for are:

41 - Eau de Rose
42 - Saffran Sultan
43 - Opulente Cannelle
44 - Ambre Gingembre
45 - Piment d'Ailleurs
47 - Feuille d'Or

They're even better than I thought they'd be, to be frank. I can see why someone would pay £15 for just one of these bad boys. They go on like a dream, as in only one coat necessary. The colours are unique, rich and totally the right sort of palette for the approaching autumnal months.

Here are a mere few of the designs I've been creating with these thus far:

I loved that gradient, it was super fiery! I used 42, 44 and 45 to create the colour transition, but I wish I'd not added the black. On another note, how gorgeous are those midi rings?! I was lucky enough to win them from a contest that the super talented naillacqueruk held on Instagram!

How do you guys feel about more expensive polishes? Whilst I'd love to, I just can't usually afford top quality polishes and so I always opt for ones that are more forgiving on my purse strings. Although I never feel like I'm compromising on quality, I have to admit that these are definitely, without a shadow of a doubt, the best polishes I now own.
